Our History
Hutchinson Homes and Renovations was founded in 1987 by Jamie Hutchinson. After gaining valuable education as an architectural technician, Jamie launched into the building trade with a desire to build quality homes and renovations. Several successful years later, Jamie was pleased to welcome his son, James to the family business. Together, with their team, the Hutchinson’s continue to design, build, and renovate homes varying in size and complexity.

Jamie Hutchinson
M.A.A.T.O , Architectural Technologist, Licensed Carpenter
Jamie is the founder and president of Hutchinson Homes. He has been building custom homes and constructing renovations and additions for over 25 years. Jamie graduated as an Architectural Technician in 1979 and has since worked in the industry. In 1987, he established Hutchinson Homes and has grown it into the successful enterprise it is today.
As a fully licensed carpenter, Jamie is a member of both the Association of Architectural technologists of Ontario, and the Seaway Valley Trades Association. He has been registered with Tarion since 1987.
Having worked in the industry for several years, Jamie’s experience places him in both the planning and on-site stages of any project. He continues to provide solutions to many challenging construction projects. Noted by his clients, Jamie takes pride in his workmanship and continues to strive for excellence in all areas of construction.
James Hutchinson
Project Manager, Architectural Designer, Builder
Jamie’s son, James Hutchinson, joined the family business in 2010 and now acts as project manager for Hutchinson Homes. Mentored by his father, James has learned the construction business from the ground up. He studied Architectural Technology at Algonquin College and graduated with honours. James worked for a local architectural firm where he learned the design aspect of the construction process. He also gained valuable experience working for a project management firm where he managed various projects ranging in size.
James has an avid interest in innovative building technologies, and strives to incorporate effective, cost-efficient building materials and practices into all Hutchinson Homes’ projects. James is constantly enhancing client communication and endeavours to keep home building an enjoyable experience.
